The word “feral” means wild. It refers to a cat’s disposition. Feral means that a cat is un-socialized to humans. Feral cats are typically born outside (but not always) and have had little direct interaction with human beings. In many ways, they are like other wild animals (squirrels, opossums, etc.) that run from people when approached.
