    Great, but prefer Battler

Posted by Nate on Sep 5th 2023

This is a great wireless option for the Gamecube, but I prefer the Battler layout. However, if you are a massive fan of the PS joystick placement you might like this better. Either way both are a nice upgrade or replacement for the original.

    BladeGC

Awesome controller so far! I ran a latency test with 240P Test Suite and it clocked in at average or above. Controller is light and responsive. My only issue is that maybe something could be used to mark what would be used as the yellow thumb stick. A small nickpick but overall I`m satisfied with my purchase.

Just disappointing, and after such a long wait

Posted by John on Feb 5th 2023

Stoneage Gamer knocked it out of the park with fast shipping and as always doing a great job packaging it up.

Retrofighters completely struck out on this one. I pre-ordered this as soon as it went up, hoping for a modern WaveBird replacement. This is not that. After they completely nailed it with the Defender, I was positive they`d get this right, specially with how long it was delayed.

It just feels off in so many ways, first off is how wide it is. The shape also makes it uncomfortable to hold. There`s no click on the analog triggers, and the analog sticks just don`t feel right for GC. Honestly this is pretty blatantly just a Switch controller that they put the GC style face buttons on, and its a pretty poor one at that. The Defender feels like a first party Sony product, made with the playstation as the focus. The BladeGC feels like a shitty no name knock off controller that had GC support slapped on.

    Not ready for primetime

Stoneagegamer shipped this product in great packaging. Arrived with no damage, and within advertised estimates.

Reteo Fighters made a great PS2 wireless controller. They could not duplicate it for the gamecube. My interest in this controller was the larger d-pad, wireless, and vibration. They delivered on the first two, but vibration is almost nonexistent. Its barely recognizable. I sent a question to retro fighters asking if it could be updated to provide higher feedback via a firmware update and they said they were looking into it. They hit gold with their ps2 wireless with vibration, so I`m hoping they will come through on this too. Until then, Ill continue to use the OEM wired gamecube controller for the accuracy and great vibration feedback.
